# Extras
What are extras?
Extras are all the things you offer a booking that isn't included in the room booking price. This could include things like cymbal hire, amp hire, PA systems, cables, drum breakables etc.
For each Extra you make on Jammed, you need to pick a name, price, and stock amounts.
# Types of Extra
Within Jammed, you can add different type of Extra:
- Ones that are limitless (or at least nearly limitless) in supply. E.g. guitar picks, guitar leads, drumsticks etc.
- Ones that have stock control applied
# Extras offered to customers
TIP
To make an Extra customer bookable, it needs to be in the 'common' category. The other Extras will only be available for admin users to choose for a customer. This would be ideal, for instance, if you have rare or expensive amps that you only rent out to trusted customers.
# Calculating the cost for a booking
The cost of an extra is always worked out per hour, regardless of the Price for that booking. There are two elements for deciding how to charge for Extras
# Price per use
This is a fixed flat rate cost for the Extra. It applies to all bookings, and will always be charged.
# Price per hour
The price per hour is calculated on the whole number of hours that a booking has. So if a booking is 3 hours and 20 minutes long, it will apply a charge for 3 hours.

# Future work
We have plans to expand what you can add as Extras and how they work. A short list of upcoming features include:
- Being able to setup 'consumable' Extras - for shop and food items. The can be added via the in-person payment Terminal
- Suggesting Extras to registered customers that have booked with you before - maybe they have a favourite amp, or always request microphones
- Reports on how much money has been taken via each Extra, and analytical data on how popular each is
